State By State Ammo Shipping Regulations

Can you ship ammo to my location?

Due to the unique nature of our ammo business and constantly changing local legislature, please check your local laws for restrictions before ordering ammunition.

 

Unfortunately, due to a combination of regulations and shipping constraints, we cannot ship ammo to the following locations:

– Alaska

– Hawaii

– New York City (we can ship to other areas in the state of New York, just not New York City or surrounding boroughs)

– Chicago (we can ship to other areas in the state of IL, just not Chicago)

– California. We get this a lot, but unless you have a pre-approved dealer to ship to, it is too complicated and often times your order will get cancelled due to lack of finding a cooperative dealer willing to take the transfer. 

– Washington, DC

– Canada

– All other international locations

Can you ship to California?

We CAN, however, it is on a case by case basis, and you MUST have a pre-approved dealer we can ship to. All California orders must be placed manually and verified prior to approval and shipment. Email us at [email protected] for additional details or to request approval. Once you are approved, however, we will continue to take orders from you without additional information, or until the FFL on file’s license expires.

Can you ship to Connecticut?

Yes! In order to ship to Connecticut we just need the following:

– A valid copy of your Connecticut driver’s license or state-issued ID AND

– One of the following:

  • A valid permit to carry a pistol or revolver issued under CT law;
  • A valid permit to sell at retail a pistol or revolver issued under CT law;
  • A valid eligibility certificate for a pistol or revolver issued under CT law;
  • A valid long gun eligibility certificate issued under CT law; or
  • A valid ammunition certificate issued under CT law.
Can you ship to Illinois?

Yes! We can ship to anywhere in Illinois except for the City of Chicago.

In order to ship to Illinois we just need the following:

– A valid copy of your FOID card (Firearm Owner’s Identification Card), AND

– A valid copy of either your driver’s license or IL State Identification Card

The ammunition can only be shipped to an address on either of those 2 documents.

Once we receive and approve your documents, your order will ship. Your future orders will ship automatically as long as your documents remain valid and your shipping address matches at least one address on either of your documents.

Please scan and email your documents to [email protected] . If you have already provided your documents for a previous order and they are still valid, you do not need to send them in again.

Applicable IL Statute: b-5) Any resident may purchase ammunition from a person outside of Illinois. Any resident purchasing ammunition outside the State of Illinois must provide the seller with a copy of his or her valid Firearm Owner’s Identification Card and either his or her Illinois driver’s license or Illinois State Identification Card prior to the shipment of the ammunition. The ammunition may be shipped only to an address on either of those 2 documents.

Can you ship to New Jersey?

Yes! For .223, 5.56, .308, 7.61×51, 7.62×39, .270, .243, 30-30, 30-06, 12 gauge, and 20 gauge ammunition, there is no need for a FOID card because there is no doubt that these products were designed for use in rifles or shotguns and New Jersey provides an exception for these uses.

 

In order to ship all other calibers to New Jersey we just need one of the following:

– A valid copy of your firearms purchaser identification card OR

– A valid copy of your permit to purchase a handgun OR

– A valid copy of your permit to carry a handgun

Once we receive and approve your documents, your order will ship. Your future orders will ship automatically as long as your documents remain valid.

According to New Jersey Statutes Annotated 2C:58-3.3., our office is required to obtain a copy of one of the following documents before your order can be shipped: a copy of your valid firearms purchaser identification card, a valid copy of a permit to purchase a handgun, or a valid permit to carry a handgun.

Can you ship to New York state?

Absolutely. That said, the in-person requirement of Section 50 of the New York SAFE Act states that we must ship your ammunition to either a valid FFL holder or a registered seller of ammunition. The FFL holder or registered seller of ammunition will then transfer the ammunition to you after complying with the other portions of the New York Safe Act. These dealers may charge an extra transfer fee, please check with your dealer prior to ordering.

If your preferred FFL/seller is not on our Southern Munitions-approved list in the checkout, please have your FFL/registered seller supply a signed transfer agreement AND a copy of its license to  [email protected] Dealers may submit a copy of their license and the transfer agreement. After all, documents have been received and processed your order will be shipped and all future orders to the same address will be automatically shipped with no delay (unless the FFL license has expired). NOTE: We are required to ship to the address of your chosen FFL as listed on their license.

We’re sorry for the extra step New York’s SAFE Act has caused, though we have tried to make it as easy as possible.
